While performing a routine pregnancy exam, her intuition led her to investigate further when the patient reported pain. Thinking outside the box, Jana used a different ultrasound camera to examine the patient's appendix and discovered she had appendicitis. Her quick thinking and expertise ensured the patient received timely treatment, preventing a potentially much worse outcome. This impactful experience solidified Jana's belief that she was meant for this profession.
Beyond her direct patient care, Jana also finds fulfillment in mentoring other ultrasound technologists, sharing her knowledge and experience as she travels from place to place. This dedication to fostering growth within the healthcare community further demonstrates her superhero qualities.
So, why did Jana take her superpowers on the road? Like many travel healthcare professionals, Jana enjoys the adventure of seeing the US and experiencing different hospitals. Travel healthcare has also provided her with the opportunity to achieve personal goals, such as paying off student loans and saving for a home, while exploring where she might want to establish roots.
