Therapy Travel Jobs by the Numbers
Travel therapy jobs sit within a growing field. BLS projects about 35,900 combined annual PT, OT, and SLP openings for 2025-35. Their projected job growth ranges from 12% to 17%. Both measures cover the full professions, including settings beyond travel healthcare.
Travel Therapist Jobs Common Questions
Are PTA and COTA jobs included in travel therapy jobs?
Yes. This category includes physical therapist assistant (PTA) and certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) roles alongside PT, OT, and SLP positions. Assistant roles differ from therapy aide jobs: aide experience alone does not satisfy the education and licensing requirements for a PTA or OTA.
What experience do travel therapist jobs require?
Most travel therapist jobs call for two years of recent experience in the relevant profession. Some accept one year. Each individual job page lists the experience requirement for that profession and assignment.
Does the PT Compact cover OT or speech therapy jobs?
No. The PT Compact covers PTs and PTAs only. It does not grant the right to work in OT or speech therapy. Travelers in those fields need their own profession's license or applicable compact privilege.
Can I apply for a therapy job without a resume?
Yes. You can submit the short application with your name, phone number, and email address. Uploading a resume is optional, and you don't need an account to apply for a therapy job.
