A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse, also known as a Perinatal Nurse, is a specialized registered nurse (RN) who works in the obstetrics department of a hospital or birthing center. L&D nurses are primarily responsible for the care of pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth. Their role is diverse and includes a range of responsibilities to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the newborn.
