ABOUT: Located on the Holston River and minutes away from Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina – adventure is at your fingertips. Kingsport is full of history and beauty; surrounded by green landscape and historical properties, this location is perfect for a historian or the outdoor adventurer.


  • The Mustard Seed Café – Located in downtown Kingsport, the eatery and coffee shop is a perfect meet up spot for lunch and dinner.
  • Riverfront Seafood Company – Even in Tennessee you can get fresh seafood. At the Riverfront Seafood Company you can dine inside or outside on the riverfront. There is also a fresh seafood market where you can purchase seafood and prepare at home.


  • Allandale Mansion – This property dates back to the second World War and is rich with history and class. There are tours and public and private events regularly.
  • Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium – 3,650-acre wildlife preserve features a picturesque 44-acre lake, a Nature Center with a state-of-the-art Planetarium Theater, and Animal Habitats featuring wolves, bobcats, raptors and reptiles.


  • Hook and Ladder Shine Distillery – Started by two brothers, one who had a passion for moonshine and the other a decorated fire captain, this local attraction is for visitors and those in Kingsport. The distillery offers delicious moonshine in many flavors, while honoring firefighters around the country.
  • Kingsport Speedway – Spend a relaxing weekend at the speedway and watch the cars circle the track. This is a perfect outing for all ages.


  • Kingsport has been part of many great states and territories, until 1802 when boarders were finalized and Kingsport has been a part of Tennessee ever since.
  • Pal’s Sudden Service, a regional fast-food restaurant chain, opened its first location in Kingsport in 1956.
