Travel MRI Technologist Jobs in Georgia: FAQs
Do I need a state MRI license for travel MRI tech jobs in Georgia?
No, Georgia doesn't license MRI technologists. The Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists says the state is one of only a few that don't license medical imaging professionals. There's no state application to file before you start. The employer's own credential requirements still apply.
Does ACR require MRI-related continuing education for MRI staff?
Yes, ACR requires registered MRI techs to include CE tied to their accredited practice. You must also meet your registry's CE rules. Credits unrelated to that practice won't meet the ACR expectation on their own.
When does ACR recommend a second person for the final MRI safety check?
ACR recommends an augmented check in complex settings, such as hospitalized or anesthetized patients arriving with support equipment. A Level 2 MR Technologist leads the verbal review, with acknowledgement from another MR staff member.
Must a radiologist be on site for contrast-enhanced MRI?
An on-site radiologist isn't the only option. ACR's guidance allows another on-site physician or qualified licensed practitioner to provide direct supervision, subject to law and facility policy. They must be trained to manage contrast reactions; the scanning technologist doesn't replace that support.
