How much experience do travel ultrasound tech jobs require?

Most travel ultrasound tech jobs require 2 years of recent ultrasound experience. Some facilities accept 1 year. The individual job page lists the experience required for that opening.

Does RDMS certification satisfy an RVT requirement?

No. ARDMS awards RDMS and RVT as separate credentials. RDMS alone does not mean you hold the Registered Vascular Technologist credential. If an opening specifically requires RVT, an RDMS credential by itself does not meet that stated requirement.

Do I need to retake SPI to add another ARDMS credential?

No, if you passed SPI and have kept your ARDMS certification active. ARDMS allows active certificants to earn additional credentials without retaking SPI. You still need to meet the eligibility requirements and pass the relevant specialty exam.

Does ARDMS certification replace a required state sonographer license?

No. Where a state requires sonographer licensure, ARDMS certification does not grant that license. Oregon, for example, requires an active medical imaging license or permit from its board to practice. The credential and the state authorization are separate qualifications.
